About

Untamed. When I get up at 2:15 a.m. to run before an early flight or head out at 9:00 p.m. in the snow in sub-zero temperatures, those around me know there’s nothing to do to hold me back. I’m going running.

I feel joy every time I lace up my running shoes and head out the door. Whether it’s 70 and sunny, 17 and blowing snow, or 103 and the world is wilting. Whether I’m sluggish from the previous day’s workout or fresh and amped up on coffee. Whether I’m running solo, or with one other person, or a large group, there is joy.

I’m Jon Raessler, currently based out of the Denver metro area. I’ve run for nearly thirty years, have raced distances from 800M to 50K, enjoyed or tolerated all kinds of weather conditions, navigated through all kinds of road, path and trail terrain, and have had many fun, painful, bizarre, and exhilarating experiences along the way.

This biweekly blog will share my current and some past experiences, and I hope you enjoy it.

As you run, don’t be held back. Be untamed.
